You Pick Comes to Goodness Orchard
With the blessings of my insurance company (for a small fee), we will be hosting families and small groups to pick their own crop from our orchard.
As opportunities for You-Pick have been diminishing on Apple Hill, we are excited to be a part of expanding this experience on our farm. We currently offer just apples. In the next few years we also plan to offer blackberries, plums, raspberries and strawberries.
We also have large numbers of both domestic and wild birds. They can be fun to observe but are wary of strangers. The best way to observe them is to be still and watch. They leave or keep moving away if people move toward them. Currently, we have up to 50 native Canada Geese and Band-tailed Pigeons feeding on wild berries and grains.
Should you elect to visit our farm we expect you will respect our neighbors and drive under 5 mph on all private drives as none are paved. Dust created by traffic could result in us having to discontinue offering You-Pick activities.
Because a farm has inherent hazards we have strictly enforced rules for your safety. We want you to enjoy your visit without painful incidents. The most recent information shows 23,000 children injured working on or visiting farms in the U. S.
Because of our location and space restrictions the number of visitors at any one time will be limited. In order to manage this, pre-registration and scheduling is required (see downloadable application below). If you prefer, applications can be mailed to you on request or picked up at our market stand at Honey Bear Ranch
A modest registration fee of $15.00 is required of which $10.00 is refundable to defray increase insurance and supplies cost.
Prices will be: $17.50 for one-half bushel and $ 35.00 for one bushel. That is slightly under one dollar per pound.
